ART in the Library ... term 3

Term 3 in the school has seen an emphasis on the arts. All the classes have been busy getting ready for the art exhibition in week 8.
In the library classes have been exploring the work of favourite illustrators and exploring the library's collection of art books (Dewey number 700s). The National Library has supplied a huge range of both non-fiction and fiction art books. The junior classes have particularly enjoyed some of the picture books featuring art topics.

Rooms 16 and 18 looked at illustration in picture books. We read many of Anthony Browne books and loved the illustrations - which are not always as they seem at first glance. In The Shape Game Anthony explains why and when he knew he wanted to become an illustrator.
