Speed Date an Author Writing Competition

Last term five Year 7/8 students took part in a writing workshop, Speed Date an Author,  organised by the NZ Book Council. They were then invited to enter a story in a competition using some of the techniques they had learned. 
OUR WINNER
Emma Loader (R11) is the winner of the Speed Date an Author writing competition. Georgia Vogt (R12), and Lillian McArthur from Mount Cook School were very close runners-up.
Emma has won:
$100 book tokens courtesy of Booksellers NZ
A selection of books by the writers and illustrators at Speed Date an Author
Her story/poem published on the NZ Book Council website
A year’s free membership to the NZ Book Council for her school library.

Georgia and Lillian’s entries will also be published on the NZ Book Council website (and on this blog).
